MCJC is a community synagogue that serves Jews of all backgrounds. MCJCs religious services are egalitarian, with a combination of traditional Hebrew prayer, and modern-day English interpretation to accommodate the diversity of our backgrounds. Services are led by Rabbi Maralee Gordon, frequently assisted by members of the congregation.
Various themed Shabbat services are offered on Friday nights, including Musical Shabbats, Social Action Shabbats, and Family Shabbat Services. Once a month the Rabbi also leads a Learners Shabbat, which delves into the function and meaning of Friday night or Saturday morning prayers. Participation comes from all corners of MCJCs active membership. Proficient daveners among the congregation read from the Torah, and religious school classes regularly lead many of the prayers from the Bimah.
MCJC arranges for Shiva and Yahrzeit services as needed. For more information about MCJC, please contact us or call 815.455.1810.
